Technologies for T-Shirt printing
Are you new to T-Shirt printing? This short summary will help you navigate through the different technologies you could use to print on T-Shirts and other garments.
Digital transfer printing
- More than 18 years ago we were the first in Hungary to introduce this technology. This experience makes us a trustworthy partner for your transfer printing business. As a market leader in our country we have a comprehensive range of transfer printing products: machines, supplies and printable blank products.
- You will need: heat press, transfer paper, a desktop printer, suitable ink.
DTF printing
- This new technology has been developing dynamically eversince 2021. It combines the print quality you could achieve by screen printing with the higher productivity of transfer printing. You could choose between the desktop version, in which case you will need to perform some steps manually (glue powder application and heat fixing) or the automatic systems which automatize all steps from printing to heat fixing. In both cases, the final product is a printed foil, which can then be ironed onto the surface of the textile in a heat press.
- You will need: DTF printer and ink, DTF PET film, DTF adhesive powder and a heat press or heat treatment machine. Desktop systems are cheaper but the process is more complicated. Automatic systems work quicker but they are more expensive.
DTG printing
- DTG is still the most practical industrial solution for T-Shirt printing. It doesn't require additional supplies and a complicated process. All you need is a DTG (Direct To Garment) T-Shirt printer and a T-Shirt. There are affordable desktop models for T-Shirt studios and webshops, and industrial systems with up to 400 T-Shirt/hour speed.
- You will need*: DTG T-Shirt printer with ink and a heat press for fixing the print.
If you want your business to evolve and you're considering industrial machines, which allow you a continuous production, a DTG printer is the perfect choice for you. Larger T-Shirt producing companies use direct T-Shirt printers, quite often more than one to achieve higher productivity.
*T-Shirt printers could have a pre-treatment unit as an optional asset. It makes the print more vibrant by applying a special pre-treatment liquid on the printable surface. This isn't required in every case – such as printing on white textiles –, therefore we didn't include it in our list.

DTG DIGITAL T-Shirt printers
DTG Digital (a Dutch company, its parent company is the Australian Impression Technology) developped and produced Q1 Hybrid T-Shirt printer. It included innovative features which were nearly unprecedented at that time, such as the “one-step-maintenance” system called A.I.R. While cleaning white ink are burdensome and expensive for most DTG and DTF printers, with Q1 it requires only one touch of a button in the beginning and the end of the workday. The system automatically cleans white ink from the printhead, the dampers and from the pipe system section directly connected to the head. No competing brand was capable of that! It has a paint circulation and mixing system as well. This is also a unique feature which provides a 100% ink circulation by separating the input and the output part of the ink cartridge.
Q1 could print up to 65 T-Shirts per hour with 390×490 mm print size. We include a professional RIP software with the system as well, which has advanced functions supporting production.
