An UV flatbed printer for all industrial needs
Mutoh XpertJet 1462UF builds upon the strengths of XpertJet 661UF modell taking its capabilities to the next level. A true industrial printer: its print area of 1420 × 700 mm (55.9" ×27.5") and outstanding strength makes it able to print on large, heavy (up to 50 kg/m2) or thick (up to 15 cm) objects. With its 4-zone vacuum table you can also print multiple, smaller-sized objects at a time. Its staggered, 1440-nozzle double piezo printheads and 4", segmented UV LED lamps placed on both sides of the carriage provide high productivity with a printing speed of up to 7,75 m2/h.
You can use it on almost any hard surface – including uniquely shaped objects or heat-sensitive materials – such as glass wood, acrylic, ceramic, PVC or leather.* With printing white as a base color, you can print perfect, vivid colours even on the surface of a coloured object. You can create a special surface effects with varnish, and Mutoh's revolutionary innovation allows you to print in a single pass with CMYK+W colors, glossy and matte varnish. With instant-drying inks, you can even create embossed and 2,5D prints (e.g. regular Braille) by multiple layer printing.

Mutoh has been integrating piezo printheads since 1999. Due to decades of experience and continuous development, their printheads are now worthy opponents of the most well-known brands. The Mutoh XpertJet 1462UF UV object printer is equipped with double, 8-channel, 1440 nozzle Micro Piezo printheads, specifically developed for UV printing to provide exceptional print quality. The Piezo Variable Drop Technology ensures perfect coverage and precise ink landing from the thinnest to the thickest materials. White ink circulation system ensure smooth operation by preventing pigment precipitation and accumulation.
This model is an ideal choice for industrial purposes: it provides high productivity with a maximum printing speed of 7,75 m2/h. The first one of the staggered printheads print CMYK colors, while the other prints white and varnish, ensuring 2-layer printing (CMYK+W/V) without loss in printing speed. Therefore XpertJet 1462UF can provide up to 6 times higher productivity for two-layer printing in the same printing mode as the XpertJet 661UF model.

Optimized curing with dual UV LED lamps
UV printing allows you to print directly onto the surface of the object, resulting in easy and fast production. UV LED technology enables printing on heat-sensitive surfaces and low energy consumption due to lower curing heat.
In case of XpertJet 1462UF UV object printer, two new 4" wide UV LED lamp ensure fast curing for instant and ready-to-use output. Positioned on both sides of the carriage, they optimize bi-directional printing.
Object printing has never been so fast!
Mutoh's revolutionary innovation is the patented Local Dimming Control Technology. The UV lamp is divided into 6 sections, and each of them can be individually adjusted. This allows the production of multiple varnish effects (glossy, semi-glossy and matte) in one pass saving you a lot of time, increasing productivity, while reducing dust adhesion as well.
Flexible media handling
The XPJ-1462UF offers both table space and strength, accommodating heavy or thick media. Accompanied with a 4-zone vacuum system, it opens the door to diverse applications, ranging from small items to larger objects, enhancing productivity and reducing delivery times.
The 4-zone vacuum table can be configued for single- and multi-area vacuum suction securing virtually any media in place. The vacuum table features 4 suction force levels (strong, medium, low, and off) to effectively secure various media types. Switching between vacuum zones and variable suction pressure can easily be selected from a dedicated control panel at the front of the printer. To keep your hands free for substrate manipulation, the vacuum system can be controlled using a robustly designed foot switch.
You can use both the suction holes on the vacuum table surface as well as predrilled holes beyond the print area to fix custom jigs to secure your media. The unique ferromagnetic table allows additional security for jigs and other various magnet-based products.
Easy to use
The printer's highly rigid structure provides high stability and precise ink landing for high quality printing. The onboard media sensor automatically detects media thickness making production easier and more effective. You can adjust settings on an easy-to-use LED touch panel. The status of the printer can be checked at a glance from a distance from the signal tower light. Operators can easily access the ink delivery system from the front of the printer. Automated obstacle detection provides smooth workflow. An optional ionizer will neutralize static charge, resulting in better ink adhesion to media.
The Simple nozzle check function allows you to perform a nozzle check at any time in a dedicated area next to the table, even after setting up the jig/media on the table and performing thickness measurement. Automated nozzle check unit and nozzle area select reduces loss of prints and downtime. It detects missing nozzles, attempts recovery via cleaning and activates the Nozzle Area Select function to continue production with limited nozzle area.

The key to Mutoh's success is that all development is done in-house, resulting in 100% coordinated systems. This also includes consumables: they have developed dedicated inks tuned to specific piezo heads, covering specific applications to achieve the perfect end results.
